NASA Marshall Space Flight Center is the premier center for development of
large scale, solid and liquid rocket motors in the United States. Scientists and engineers at Marshall developed the large Saturn rockets
that took astronauts to the moon as well as the space shuttle main engine and boosters
that delivered International Space Station components and supplies to orbit.
More recently, they are developing the rockets and technology for the new Space
Launch System (SLS) that will take astronauts back to the moon and beyond.
