DESCRIPTION

The 9355 is a transducer amplifier with a guarded 2-10 wire input. It provides programmable voltage or current excitation with remote sensing and excitation interrupt. Signal conditioning accommodates strain gages, ¼, ½ and full bridge transducers with automatic balance. Voltage substitution and DAC shunt calibration are standard. One and four-step resistive shunt calibration are optional. Bridge completion and calibration resistors mount on a plug-in completion card that has a holder for a channel identification card. Switches on the completion card can select sets of preprogrammed operating parameters and set a code that identifies the transducer to the software.

The differential instrumentation amplifier has programmable gain from 1 to 10,000 with 0.05% resolution and 32 calibrated steps. Ten gain steps are factory calibrated to provide ±0.1% accuracy. The remaining steps may be user calibrated or employed as variable gains. The amplifier zeros automatically using a fast successive approximation technique to achieve low offset for all gains and filters. The amplifier operates from grounded or floating signal sources with 120 dB common mode rejection for voltages up to ±300 Volts.

Separate data and tape outputs supply ±10 Volts and 1 Volt RMS full scale respectively. Each output may be selected for wideband or filtered response. The standard filter is a four-pole, Bessel low-pass with eight programmable bandwidths and wideband. The output and excitation levels can be read by the computer interface and displayed on the optional control panel.

Ten channels mount in the R93-010M master enclosure that contains an RS232 and IEEE-488 interface. Additional channels mount in R93-010S slave enclosures. Up to 160 channels can be used with a single master. For more channels the software supports multiple masters. Enclosures mount in EIA 310C cabinets, are 7-inches high and operate on 115/230 VAC.
